In order to up our ‘SciFi’ cred here on the site… we have got involved in a great local event here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada… we are co-sponsoring a charity screening of the modern Sci-fi classic ‘Serenity’ along with the Ottawa Browncoats!
The ‘Serenity’ Charity Screening is happening on October 2, and it will be a BLAST! There will be prizes, a costume contest (LET’S SEE SOME REAVERS!), Jayne hats will make an appearance (great for winter coming up!)… it’s just going to be a fun day. Join the FACEBOOK PAGE to keep up on all the fun stuff!
(THAT’S a Reaver…by the way…Cute, huh?)
You can get ‘Bickets’ (yeah- the ACTUAL tickets will be a button that is collectable- THAT alone is worth picking up) anyway you can get them through the Ottawa Browncoats HERE go…get one, or 4… get a bunch!
Now… here comes the other news- it’s a CHARITY event, so bring your wallets…don’t get all cheap on me now, because every cent helps out someone in need… who? well lemme tell ya:
Everyone KNOWS how much ‘the Zombieking’ loves women… They’re more than just a meal to me… so the charities that will be receiving support from this very screening and event are: iSisters Technology Mentoring Inc. is a Canadian charitable organization that connects women in need with technology through mentoring. iSisters increases economic earning potential and independence for women in poverty in Ottawa who are unemployed, have limited education and depend on government services for basic needs. iSisters programs enhance employability skill development, provide a critical and effective stepping stone to improved quality of life and initiate long term and high impact positive change for marginalized women.
and Equality Now was founded in 1992 to work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists, Equality Now documents violence and discrimination against women and mobilizes international action to support their efforts to stop these human rights abuses.
So, come out and support these great causes… otherwise I send THIS GUY to your house:
From Parts Unknown : Fight Like A Girl
Yep, I figure this covers horror, SciFi AND cult! It’s the fucking TRIFECTA!!! Melbourne (Australia) based Strongman Pictures Entertainment seems to have a few irons in the fire, this one (obviously) and they are shooting one right now called ‘Murderdrome’ that has Roller Derby in it! The only downside is that ‘Murderdrome’ will likely be released before ‘From Parts Unknown: Fight like a Girl’ as they struggle with some post production issues, but hell… I’m TOTALLY down for a Roller Derby horror series! Check their Youtube channel for details… I did 🙂
Indianapolis plays host to Gen Con this week, where we will be gathering up info on the latest horror games, artists and overall awesome that generally accompanies the show… I will gather info on new games, products, the annual Zombie walk… LOTS of stuff!
If you send any mail through the contact form, expect a delay in getting a response…
See you in about a week! (Don’t worry, we’ll still post some cool stuff for when we’re away!)

Very cool cat that the King got to chat to for a bit, and while the pics are showing a little bit of ONE of the MANY shows that run throughout the day, it is only a fraction of what is there… This show will definitely grow over time, so seeing it in an intimate setting was hella cool.  Here’s a peek at the program, if you hurry you can make the medicine show!
