Release: May 16, 2014.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, this teaser’s music reminds me of 2001, and some of the shots make me think of Akira, setting the bar pretty high in my eyes.
I’m equally gravely concerned and morbidly excited about this. Great teaser, though!

I’m hoping this movie does well where so many of its predecessors have failed…I’m talking to you, Godzilla of ’98.
It looks good from the trailer. Bryan Cranston is in it, which is a plus. It’s not directed by Michael Bay and it doesn’t star Shia Labeouf, who is a talentless dweeb.
Hopefully this movie will focus on the story and character development instead of simply throwing endless scenes of destruction. I’m all about seeing a 300 foot tall radioactive lizard-monster eating folks and bitch-slapping skyscrapers, to be clear, but we’ve see that kind of movie many times already. Gojira should be more. It should be quality science fiction.
I plan on checking this one out in the theater, of course, and would love to walk out of there with both eye-candy and thought provocation. I want to have to have a conversation about this movie, not just an adrenalin rush. If that was all I was after, I could blindfold myself and play in traffic.
Thanks for posting the trailer and here’s to Hope, which, from what Alexander Pope said, springs eternal.

I’m trying to decide if this is an opening-night jaunt myself.
